What Happened

Our dear friend, Dennis Erectus Netto, suffered a massive heart attack after his Thanksgiving 2006 celebration.  He was clinging to life, and remained unconscious for a very long time.  Dennis was found lying in the parking lot of his friend Laurie Free.  He had left her dinner at 10 p.m. to go to his night shift at KBAY/KEZR in San Jose where he has been working for Dana Jang.  (Thankfully he was not behind the wheel.)  Paramedics revived him, but they were unsure of how long he was not breathing.  Brain damage is a possibility.

Many of us have spent time with Dennis in the ICU since November 24th.  The breathing tube was removed after 2 weeks, thankfully.  He has given some of us signs of having heard what we're telling him.  We all know that somehow, he's understanding how much we care about him.

Dennis was moved out of Intensive Care to a regular hospital room on December 7th.  He was sedated again due to erratic and possibly dangerous body movements. Soon thereafter, Dennis slowly gained strength.

Currently Dennis can walk, receive visitors and speak a few words, aware of what and who is around him. Remarkable that he's come back this far from such a massive attack. But he still has a long way to go.

Dennis was uninsured at the time of his heart attack.  His bills will be BIG.

Monetary donations are being accepted in Dennis's benevolent account.  Jona Denz-Hamilton is its administrator. Checks made out to either
Dennis Netto or Dennis Erectus may be sent or brought to Jona at:

KBAY Radio 190 Park Center Plaza #200, San Jose, CA  95113.
